My skillset includes videography, video editing, and photography. As a staff visual journalist at The News & Observer from 2017-2022, I employed each of those skills on a daily basis while collaborating with other journalists.

I apply what I learned from working in local news to everything that I do today. My professional experience includes documentary filmmaking, breaking news coverage, editorial photography, visual enterprise editing and teaching. I’m an FAA certified drone pilot and an open water certified scuba diver.

My work has been published in The Washington Post, ProPublica, The New York Times, TIME, Bloomberg, National Geographic, The Assembly, The News & Observer, PBS North Carolina and The Toronto Star.

In 2013 I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.A. in photojournalism and interned at the Los Angeles Times and MediaStorm.
